On July 15th 2026, a delegation from DIFROL’s Borders Directorate held a technical meeting with the Military Geographical Institute to strengthen cooperation in cartography, geodesy, geospatial infrastructure, and other initiatives of mutual interest aimed at supporting the Borders Directorate's functions.

Chile and Peru held the Eighth Ordinary Meeting of the Joint Permanent Boundary Commission in Santiago.
The Eighth Ordinary Meeting of the Chilean Peruvian Joint Permanent Boundary Commission took place on January 29, 2026, at the DIFROL offices in Santiago. During the meeting, both countries expressed their commitment to continue working together on the demarcation of their shared border.

DIFROL Provides On-Site Advisory and Guidance to Aymara Community in Visviri, Arica and Parinacota Region
Between November 25 and 27, 2025, DIFROL officials, as part of the Chilean Boundary Commission, conducted on-site advisory work in border areas near the town of Visviri, in the Arica and Parinacota Region. Aymara community requested assistance in clearly identifying the international boundary line in order to erect a fence that would allow for the safe grazing of their camelids in the area.

Lima, Peru, on August 7 and 8, 2025, a Joint Subcommittee of Delegates Meeting was held between Chile and Peru, continuing the spirit of collaboration between the two countries to carry out field work on their shared border.

The Chile-Bolivia Joint Boundary Commission carried out field work on the international border
Between July 29 and August 10, 2025, the Chile-Bolivia Joint Boundary Commission carried out work on the international border in sectors of the Colchane commune, Tarapacá Region. The work was carried out expeditiously and cordially by the participating delegates and technicians.

XXXIX Meeting of the Cristo Redentor Integration Committee and XX Optimization Meeting
On August 13 and 14, 2025, the 39th Meeting of the Cristo Redentor Integration Committee took place. This bilateral cooperation forum addresses issues of border interest to the Chilean region of Valparaíso and the Argentine provinces of Mendoza and San Luis.

Workshop on the International Labour Organization
A Workshop on Convention 190 of the International Labor Organization (ILO) was held on August 18. This activity was co-organized by the National Department of State Borders and Boundaries and the Vice-Ministry of Foreign Affairs and stems from the commitments of the Director of Borders, aimed at promoting an optimal organizational environment and fostering a gender perspective.
